5 Ryneveld is a cute and quirky meeting place for those embracing a playful and sophisticated atmosphere. It will be shaped by the friends, family and other warm-hearted people who meet, eat and play there.
The Cream of Chicken soup at Ryneveld is absolutely amazing...
The new menu is great. Tried the Lamb Burger - wonderful. Maroccan lamb pita a must!
I simply love 5 Ryneveld! The food and vibrant environment is absolutely extraordinary! I always make a reservation, because they're always full! Do yourself a favour and visit this restaurant! Definitely my favourite in Stellenbosch!
5 Ryneveld's atmosphere is more comfortable than my own dining room, it's a feel good place with familiar faces and friendly smiles any time of the day. No matter what you order on the exciting menu you always feel satisfied and ready for your next visit. A big attraction is the wi-fi and cocktail specials Monday to Friday between 3 and 6pm. There is no doubt, your visit to Stellenbosch will not be completed without a visit this unique restaurant.
5 Rynevelt is one of those places that feels like home, or perhaps like popular classic series - Cheers (where everyone knows your name).
With free wi-fi, good food and friendly staff, I keep coming back for more...
Not even to mention the weekly live music nights where locals can book a cosy seat in the courtyard, chill next to the fire and listen to singer / songwriters and muso's perform original music (at a minimal fee of R20). Then of course they also have a daily cocktail special between 3 and 6pm , which often motivates me to retire early for the day. I love their sirloin steak with wild mushroom and red wine reduction. Ryneveld is a place where friends meet, where you can chill on your own and where you can always snack on something tasty. I'll definitely be back for more.
This is, quite possibly, the best burger bar I've been to in the Cape. Been to plenty and had various different burgers, but this place tops the bill.
The place is small, but "just right" in terms of size, especially for couples. It has a nice enough ambience, pleasant music at a tolerable volume and well spaced tables.
The food was exquisite - the home-made crisps/'chips' are delightful. The burger I ordered had all the perfect elements, was the perfect size and, most of all, tasted brilliant! The dessert courses were also nice.
Service was exceptional - The staff were quick to serve, polite and friendly, and the food...well, we turned our backs for a scant few minutes and all of a sudden the food was upon us! It was truly remarkable service. Definitely recommended.
Not having your own recommended wines, plus those offered by local vineyards on the wine list is beyond frustrating!
Unfortunately we had a very distasteful experience at 5 Ryneveld in terms of the service and the food. Our waiter was very arrogant and sarcastic to our questions about the menu and in general which left us speechless and offended. The manager simply ignored our complaints which made the whole affair even worse.
The menu consists mostly of burgers. I had the lamb which was mostly fat and had very little meat. I did not complain about this which in hindsight I should have done.
We have visited a lot of restaurants and eat out at least once a week.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone, and we were totally disappointed. We will not be returning.
