This is a really pretty restaurant with a good city location to the Fugard Theatre. The restaurant was only serving 2 tables. It is a select menu, with a limited number of suggestions. The food prices are on the high side. The wine list however, although cheaper compared to the food, is quiet limited. We ordered some champagne and there was not a cold bottle available. The owner/waiter gave us another glass of bubbly from another brand for free. The food was very enjoyable, we both nearly licked our plates! I had duck and my fiance had the carpenter fish. Service was good and informed. We were having such a good time that the owner had to remind us that our show was starting shortly. Definitely will go again.
6 Spin Street certainly has an enormous amount of potential. However the restaurant area felt somewhat makeshift despite the impressive scale of the interior (especially the north facing double volume windows). The food was acceptable but expensive for what it was.
Robert Mulders, previously from Rozenhof, runs an impressive restaurant in an equally impressive venue - a historic Sir Herbert Baker design, with interesting artwork.I had the cheese souffle and duck the first time I went, and the suppli (rice and mozarella croquettes) and fillet of beef the second time, all excellent, except for the roast potato slices on my first visit. A winelist is still missing for the restaurant.
