Owner's description

Ghazal was established in 2008 and offers authentic North Indian cuisine with sensational spice balance and a wide variety of curries. The meat and chicken pieces are always succulent and moist. A highlight is the prawn masala, which has a delicate, mild blend of spices that compliments the sweet prawns perfectly. It’s a must for prawn lovers. The comprehensive wine list includes Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir and Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage. Ghazal Sunninghill is spacious and modern to maximise customer intake. Ghazal offers flavourful delicate curries and the best soft, puffed garlic naan in Jozi. Ghazal Sunninghill has gone through a major revamp in 2016 and now introduces our VIP Function Venue and Cocktail Lounge called Redcarpet.

From the moment the owner/manager greets you at the door to the moment you glide out of the restaurant it is amazing. The ambience allows you to have an intimate dinner with a bunch of friends and it feels like you are at home. The service is close to perfect, but there are one or two things they can fine-tune. What i can say is that the staff is extremely friendly and definitely competent and know the menu well allowing them to advise on food options. The food: PERFECTION!!! I have never been disappointed and they have managed to get my meals right. Including the side dishes. And i always take friends along and they have never been disappointed. The sea of gleeful faces around the table is always a delight. *tips hat to Ghazals - Peter Place!*
I had some of the best northern Indian food I've ever had here. We were quite a big group but service was still excellent and the food was to die for. I had a lamb korma with a naan bread - best I've ever had. A little pricey, but the portions are big and it is worth every cent. The place was packed on a Tuesday evening which shows that it is something special. Definitely give it a try!
The curry at Ghazal's is superb - possibly some of the best in the country! The restaurant is cozy and unique, although it is a little too dark for my liking. Definitely worth a visit.
Authentic North Indian cuisine ... Taste of Paneer masala and dhal Makhani is so typically Punjabi ... Best in jozi!
The worst service I have ever experienced. Booked a table they where over booked. They then seated others of similar numbers before us, as a first impression it's a no go, think they have got a bit to big for there boots.
