Talented chef Craig Cormack is in the kitchen, so you know you’re in good hands. This is food that delivers delicious flavours that are robust and no-nonsense, yet intensely satisfying. The well-priced menu, which changes regularly, includes gnocchi with mushrooms, Parmesan anglaise and pine nuts; arancini with rich Napolitana sauce; and blue cheese, pear and chorizo salad. There’s a delicious melange of flavours and textures. The venison potjie with chocolate and walnut dumplings is tasty and rich, as are the pork loin chops with colcannon potato and bacon. The knockout dessert is the ultra-smooth crème brûlée with granadilla jelly and ice cream.
