Owners description

This market, situated on Blaauwklippen, one of the oldest wine farms between Somerset West and Stellenbosch, was established in 2011 and has become one of the most unique market venues of the Winelands.

This market has become a popular Sunday outing frequented by families and friends. At Blaauwklippen Family Market, we endeavour to present a selection of unusual and exciting products.

Our aim is to create an occasion for families and friends to spend quality time together and create an opportunity for small businesses to market their products directly to the consumer. We are also happy to become involved with charities and their fund raising events such as our once-a-month Doggy Walk for the Animal Welfare.

This picturesque wine estate is a great place to relax over the weekend with friends and family. A diverse range of prepared foods is on offer, perfect for a lunch in the heart of the Stellenbosch winelands.

Artisan ice cream and sorbets; traditional pancakes with a twist; and pastries and other confectionary will tantalise those with a sweet tooth. Fresh fruit and veg, and deli items by small producers such as olives, biltong, cheese, preserves and handmade Belgian chocolates can be found inside the carriage museum.

There is also wine tasting and craft beer. Browse through a selection of art, crafts, antiques and collectibles, décor and fashion items beneath the beautiful wild fig trees. Live music is on offer every week and children can keep entertained on pony rides and other activities. Keep a look out for ‘seasonal ingredient day’ every second Sunday of the month and the Vineyard Doggy Walk in aid of Animal Welfare on the third Sunday of the month.
