The buffet today was very disappointing. The chicken casserole was so incredibly dry and bland I could not eat it. The beef with spaghetti again was ridiculously dry - could not get it down without a glug of water. The spread was very poor and not much selection either. Service was slow. Not much going for this place except the venue. Will definitely not return for the buffet. It is not cheap either. Reminds me a lot of hostel food (in fact hostel food was better).
The Sunday buffet was seriously disappointing. The food was very average. In most cases dishes weren't replaced or topped up, and when we complained the waiter simply shrugged and said that "we got the skinny chef. The fat chef is much better...". At R185 a head, with a buffet menu that is not extensive by any means, the very least you expect is for dishes to be topped up timeously. The venue has a lot going for it in terms of decor, ambience, parking and kids area, but the food turned me right off and I won't return unless it's only for a drink or coffee.
The venue is stunning and the service is fast , friendly and efficient but the food was such a disappointment. I had the biltong and truffel pap cakes - bland bland bland! My friend had the croissants - one piece of ham cut in half for each croissant, really!! I might go back for coffee but will never eat there again.
