Very nice evening out with the wife and kids. Our waiter was excellent, the food was world class - i recommend the dorado, mussels and calamari platter. The kids (4 and 7) enjoyed the fish and chips and steak and chips, and my wife's chicken breast was excellent. The ice-cream and chocolate sauce was the perfect end to the meal.
we went there for a 52nd birthday dinner. worst dinning experience ever! the service was horrific. the waiter had bad attitude and all the staff members were unwelcoming and rude. The food was average. The waiter only gave us the dessert menu 15 minutes before the kitchen closes.

Service was very poor for a 'fine dining' restaurant. The food was quick to arrive but honestly they should have taken more time on the presentation and taste. Food was bland and underseasoned. The presentation was amatuerish, something I would have expected from home cooking. I was looking forward to the whole experience but the pics are misleading. The marine tank was amazing and was probably the only thing we enjoyed. For the price we paid it was definitely an unmemorable meal and one I wouldn't recommend.

We had a really embarrassing experience at Cargo Hold last week. We took 10 colleagues there for a team business, including a senior managers from South Africa and Europe. We waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for our food after we ordered and then they brought the main courses before the starters. We were all so hungry that we decided to just eat our main courses and give up on the starters and then half way through they brought our starters. The food was hit and miss, some people had great food (like their special kingklip in phyllo pastry dish) but others was terrible (for example my sticky chilli prawns which were so overcooked that they were rock hard and I could not get them out their shells. Also strange to serve prawns in their shells when they're in a sauce. The sauce had a hard crust on it, presumably from sitting under the heating lights for so long and there was no fresh dhania in sight). The waiter was sweet but compelely untrained and the manager was nowhere to be found for most of the night. When we did find him, he was absolutely indifferent about our complaints. The wine list is also very average. All in all, a very disappointing experience and we certainly did not feel at all proud. Such a pity because with a decent manager and a passionate chef, Cargo Hold could be brilliant!

Your first impression lasts. Cargo started off bad, as the reception lad was rude and dull, not once but twice with the second guest arriving. On food - starters were good, main course disappointing, as for the price you pay surely you can expect the rice not to be taste like water and the garnish not be be yellow, instead of green. Our waiter was good, so it made it better. Sad that a cook runs this restaurant and not a chef.
