Centrally and situated on Sea Point main road right next to the Shell garage. Is this stylish, efficient, boutique take-away that prides itself on sourcing the finest ingredients and the best tasting chicken in town. This boutique take-way spot is perfect for one in search of Sunday lunch, or just meeting friends for a meal, The Chicken Shop is a spot you need in your life. Jarryd & Ariel Segal have taken the take-way concept and made it into something extraordinary.

Food
The menu truly showcases all the wonders that can be created using chicken. Before even thinking about what to order from the menu, one is captured by the beautiful sight of rotisserie chicken slowly turning over a wood-fire oven pit. With each turn the chicken’s natural juices drip onto the hot coals creating that unmistakable sizzling sound and a smell that leaves one instantly hungry. Not a bad way to get the taste buds ready for the wonderful feast that lies ahead. With the rotisserie chicken, cooked to perfection, one is guaranteed to get chicken that’s tender and succulent. The rotisseries is offered in two cooking styles, the traditional and the Portuguese spatcock, what a tough choice! If rotisseries not what you after, The Chicken shop does a beautifully prepared southern fried chicken and a buttermilk chicken. Although the menu is chicken orientated, there is the option of a leg of lamb. If small bowl sharing is your thing, the menu offers a wide selection from chicken popcorn, cauliflower popcorn, chili cheese bites, potato croquettes as well as the beloved corn on the cob. The menu offers a beautiful selection of hot and cold sides which change depending on the availability of ingredients. The char-grilled butternut, creamy Danish feta and macadamia nut salad combines the ingredients that compliment the various proteins on the menu. Mac & Cheese, yes there is mac with that classic creamy, silky texture topped with a grilled layer of mature cheddar to finish this superb dish off. Vegetarians, are also most welcome, with the delicious selection of sides and classic fries which also make an appearance on the menu. With all this to choose from at the The Chicken Shop its surely a perfect spot for all seasons. It’s rather unfortunate that there are no dessert options available.

Drinks
The Chicken does not offer any wine or alcohol. They have a wide selection of soft drinks.

Service
When one approaches the service counter, one is set at ease with a helpful smile as the staff are eager to make The Chicken Shop experience a memorable one. They offer efficient assistance and good menu insight.

Ambience
The décor and all round vibe of the The Chicken Shop is so funky that one should take a moment to absorb it all. The long solid wooden tables allow for a communal dining experience or for a family gathering. The bright yellow chairs and the slick beats pumping in the background contribute to the detail that gives The Chicken Shop its unique edge.

Best for...
Chicken chicken chicken!
