With a cold, blustery wind barreling up the slopes of Table Mountain, my husband and I came into Con Brio from the cold. An unpretentious space with a homely feel. Sunday lunch and there was only one waitress in sight. A good selection of “small plates” was chalked on boards. We also perused the usual menu. The weekly specials pasted up on the wall were really good value: burgers, pizzas and small plates - might come back for those. We ordered a garlic pizza, and two small plates of spiced sausage gnocchi and arancini. The garlic pizza was laden with garlic (and so it should be), herbs and feta, and full of flavor. It could have been a tad more crispy, but the taste redeemed this old favourite. The spiced sausage gnocchi also packed a one-two punch of flavour, with slices of sausage in a napolitana sauce, and the gnocchi had a pleasant texture. The arancini dish was a winner. These delectable rice and mozzarella balls were deep fried till crisp and served with a basil mayo, pesto and rocket - crunchy, soft, fresh tongue-tickling goodness on a plate. Made me smile. The only letdown was a 35 minute wait for our food, but the waitress was pleasant and doing her best, having to juggle enough duties for two. In conclusion, we left very satisfied with the meal.
    Amazing in all angles. ❤️
I couldn't agree more about this fantastic bistro! I have moments almost weekly where the craving for Con Brio Bistor's food arises. We drive from Claremont weekly to visit one of our firm favourites! The food is always delicious we have never had a bad experience to date! Well done to Vanessa and her Team.
The Burgers! I don't think I've had a more delicious burger in Cape Town. Easily better than Royale Eatery or Hudsons. You can tell a lot of care has gone into the preparation of these meals between buns. The side toppings provided ar both unique and delicios. The Tuesday 2 for 1 Burger deal seals the deal, get these mouth watering taste temptresses for the price of a Spur Burger! Service is also great, super great in fact, they gave us free beer while we were waiting for our to-go pizza to finish baking :)
The best kept secret in Cape Town. I've had the pleasure of eating at Con Brio three times. The food is consistently delicious that I have pretty much ordered the same items each time (pork neck and phyllo parcel small plates are amazing and well priced) the desserts are incredible (doughnuts with white chocolate cream - wow), even the cocktails are excellent. On top of this there is such incredible attention to detail and friendly service, they deserve to be bustling.
