User reviews

  • 'Pink and juicy' is how they recommend their burgers and that they are! The Classic Mushroom -served with grilled mushroom, gorgonzola and a relish- was delicious, so much so I could probably eat it again today. Perfect for a relaxed, mid-week burger treat. Will definitely be back.

  • Favourite spot for gourmet burgers. The pizzas are delicious, too.

  • Probably my favourite burger joint in Cape Town. Fresh, tasty burgers, well cooked and soft fluffy buns. Good selection of craft beers and sides are delicious (truffle and parmesan fries! Enough said.)

  • We decided to try a new restaurant along the Sea Point Main road strip and ended up at Engruna Eatery after reading some good reviews. The food was amazing to say the least. Burgers were fresh and bursting with flavor, and the pizza was some of the best pizza i have ever tasted. We finished off our night one of their caramel fudge milkshakes, I don't even have any words to describe how delicious that was. Overall service was also great, we will definitely be back.

  • With so many new burger/pizza/craft beer eateries opening up in recent months, Engruna definitely stands out as one of the best. Served on a wooden board, the burgers were delicious, juicy and cooked to perfection, and the sweet potato chips perfectly complimented the chorizo/emmental topping of my burger. The variety of beers and wines on offer is more than sufficient to suit any palate. As more of a wine drinker myself, my only "criticism" is that the waiter should've been more knowledgeable about the wide choice of craft beers available, but besides that, will definitely be going back to try their pizzas, which also looked delicious :)

  • We enjoy La Boheme, but this experience was not as pleasing. Given the restaurant specialists in craft beers, the waiter knew very little of the beers on offer so it was guess work in terms of selection. We ate burgers which were a little over cooked, really solid and not all that tasty. The chorizo on mine was rubbery. It felt as if we could have had a better evening cooking at home. That said, the decor is good and the staff are friendly. Wouldn't go back though.
