Food
Chef Sandra Uwe is a breath of fresh fusion air in the Breede River valley, with a menu that goes globetrotting from the Karoo to the Far East. Her springbok carpaccio and Parmesan-crusted lamb loin are legendary, but the likes of Asian-style salmon trout with star anise and lime jasmine rice lend a decidedly fusion feel to the menu. Plating is artful, ensuring an upmarket experience.

Sandra and Karl Uwe are consummate hosts, so the welcome is warm and service hospitable.

Ambience
A cosy dining room spills out onto a rustic terrace with drop-dead gorgeous vineyard views. Warm summer evenings are idyllic.

  • This was an out-of-this-world food experience for us. The seared salmon trout on wasabi leek was delicious, fillet steak was melt in the mouth, and the desserts dreamy. Sandra gave us a little taster of her Madeiran tomato soup too, which was so flavourful and not at all acidic.
