A shop located on the Waterfront in Bloem! Jill Nowers was first famous for her cupcakes and baking which eventually turned in to a fully-fledged restaurant and café, owner run and managed by Jill and husband Andre.
Vibrant café styled food can be found on this very exciting menu. Jill’s menu stretches from amazing breakfast dishes like her ‘French Lady’, smoked pork neck, Dijon mustard & white cheddar on home-baked buttered toasts, bechamel sauce and pecorino, grilled and finished with a fried egg are to die for, to a slow cooked lamb shank in a spiced tomato sauce with jeweled cous-cous. It is easy to forget that you are in Bloemfontein when one of Jill’s curries takes you straight to Kzn. The freshness of her ingredients is key to all dishes at this restaurant where the food is prepared in eye sight of patrons. Great value for money experience and suitable to a breakfast corporate meeting, relaxed lunch or more formal dinner. Worth mentioning is the exquisite dessert table with pecan pies, croissants, meringues, cupcakes and way too many other items to mention.
Jack & Jill is known for their extensive gin bar, but stocks a good selection of wines, beers and drinks. A magnificent coffee section is available here too.
Fantastic service was given by Baron, Andre’s son – our meal turned into a conversation and a reason to return.
The décor and ambience is great for a mall with tables small enough for intimate conversation, but mobile enough to accommodate larger groups of guests.
Corporate meetings, family luncheons, tea’s, birthdays and sunset cocktails.
