3 friends and I picked this spot for a late lunch on Sunday the 9th of December. The ambience and vibe was great and we expected to have an amazing afternoon. Our experience with the waitress was however unpleasant, our drinks orders took way too long and we had to ask her to clear the table once we were done eating which I found to be rather unprofessional. I was also disappointed by the fact that they could not serve the sushi that I was looking forward to having because the rice was not cooked and it would take approximately 2 hours to prepare the dish. The presentation of the other dishes that my friends ordered was nice. I particularly liked the presentation of the cocktails we ordered. However, our experience as a whole was underwhelming.
My wife and I went to the Life Grand Cafe in Mall of Africa on Sunday the 14th of October, along with 4 of our friends. We all had a variety of meals. One of my friends had spaghetti ragu and my wife had the penne pomodoro. Both my friend and my wife had sever food poisoning, my wife being 8 months pregnant! I am beyond furious as food poisoning can be extremely dangerous to an unborn baby and mother to be. I will be notifying the department of health and posting this to all social media platforms. This is completely unacceptable and this restaurant needs to be shut down for unhygienic and unsanitary conditions that led to contaminated food.
It's inside a mall, so view is always a 'negative'. Although watching people and fashion is always interesting. What a lovely experience! Butter and jam is presented in miniature glass pots ... yaay!!!! Menu items are just sooooooo different and interesting! I compliment the owners on their creativity! I chose the Mediterranean Breakfast ...toasted health loaf filled with marinated feta, pesto, caramelised onion and mushrooms, topped with melted cheese. Oh my goodness!! You have to try this!!! It's a BIG portion and I only ate the filling and topping, but it was amazing!!!!!!! Hein had the Lazy Breakfast - complete with 2 sausages, baby potatoes and the usual other suspects (eggs, bacon, tomato). Its also a BIG portion - its served with 2 slices of lovely bread. This was a real good breakfast option! Will have to check the rest of their menu!
