Mondiall Burger Bar is an on-trend, top quality New York style ‘take-away’ addition to Mondiall Kitchen and Bar. Mondiall Burger Bar sits snugly behind the restaurant, overlooking a busy pedestrian area in the V&A Waterfront with lots of foot traffic from tourists and office workers in the area.
The handcrafted burgers are freshly grilled, prepared and wrapped in paper, and sold express-style from a canopied serving hatch and counter. Choices range from a Classic Angus Beef Burger, to a gourmet Veggie option, as well as a Free Range Chicken Chipotle Burger. A Burger of the Day will be on special, alongside a Dog of the Day - a flavour-packed free range pork Vienna with the chef’s toppings of the day, and may be ordered with Mondiall’s signature French fries with truffle and Parmesan cheese, or plain.
Very overpriced! Burger and chips not worth R180.
I think I've found a new contender for the best burger in Cape Town. It was made with the most magnificent meat - I forget the credentials - minced wagyu perhaps, generously portioned, a lovely tangy sauce, pickles, the perfect bun, and a slice of cheese for R65. You can get it sans cheese for R55 - which ought to terrify other restaurants in the vicinity, but probably doesn't because people don't seem to know about this place, and continue to eat in the overpriced tourist traps nearby. Granted, it's a takeaway, so you have to find your own seat, but on a sunny day, there are worse places to sit than on the steps overlooking the harbour.
