Owners description

Mykonos Taverna re-opened its doors after 20 years. The original owner Peter Peroglous famous Kleftiko lamb shank and crispy golden calamari in his secret sauce are still cooked by his son Dimitri, who now is following in his fathers footsteps. Serving an array of traditional Greek food as you would eat it on a Greek island. From Mezze to Moussaka, its all full of flavour and served simply. The decor is clean and crisp and the outside area is right on the side walk for you to watch the world go by as you tuck into your meal. Dimitri focuses on sourcing the freshest ingredients and is constantly updating the specials board with dishes made from seasonal ingredients. Smash plates and dance Zorba at the Greek Evening held on the last Saturday of every month.

  • I’m on my way back there. There is always a vibe, full tables- be sure to book in advance, and food and fresh and oh so delicious. I had a lot of everything and couldn’t decide which was best. It was a great experience with perfect timed service every time

  • Best Greek food outside of Greece! There is absolutely nothing to fault. The food is sooo amazing - everything on the menu is mouthwatering, the staff is warm and welcoming and the restaurant is always buzzing. Go on the last Saturday of every month for a proper Greek party!

  • This is the best spot for a delicious authentic Greek meal with outstanding service and a great atmosphere! The lamb chops are my best and we are regulars going at least once every 10 days. My husband loves the Sardines and together we enjoy the taramasalata and pita bread or mixed mezze starter! This is a Greek feast with a festive vibe any day of the week!

  • While it’ll never be my yiayia’s kitchen nor our favourite taverna in Greece, Mykonos’ food has definitely improved over time and is probably the better out of the few Greek restaurants in CT. It also always seems to be busy. The starter melintzanes (aubergine) is divine, grilled calamari and open souvlaki’s are always a winner, and the youvetsi is incredibly comforting and more-ish.

  • So I was there for a quick lunch . ordered the veggi burger and my boyfriend ordered a chili beef burger. His burger was average however my burger Had extra oily vegtables which was not on the menus with it , they forgot the hummus and the beetroot and the patty was out of stock . horrible food , great waiter on duty though. Will never see me again . I would advice not eating there , if you feel like you don't want to waste your money
