Owners description

Mykonos Taverna re-opened its doors after 20 years. The original owner Peter Peroglous famous Kleftiko lamb shank and crispy golden calamari in his secret sauce are still cooked by his son Dimitri, who now is following in his fathers footsteps. Serving an array of traditional Greek food as you would eat it on a Greek island. From Mezze to Moussaka, its all full of flavour and served simply. The decor is clean and crisp and the outside area is right on the side walk for you to watch the world go by as you tuck into your meal. Dimitri focuses on sourcing the freshest ingredients and is constantly updating the specials board with dishes made from seasonal ingredients. Smash plates and dance Zorba at the Greek Evening held on the last Saturday of every month.

  • So I was there for a quick lunch . ordered the veggi burger and my boyfriend ordered a chili beef burger. His burger was average however my burger Had extra oily vegtables which was not on the menus with it , they forgot the hummus and the beetroot and the patty was out of stock . horrible food , great waiter on duty though. Will never see me again . I would advice not eating there , if you feel like you don't want to waste your money

  • This Greek restaurant has been around for years, but over the last 3 to 4 years it has just kept getting bigger and bigger. We live around the corner and frequent the place very often and we are never disappointed. The service is relaxed but attentive and the food is excellent. We have pretty much tried everything on the menu and it is all delicious. Fresh, simple and excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

  • I had heard about bad service but still wanted to give it a try, best decision of the day 23rd February 2014. Once it gets busy the service does fall away a bit but not that it was worth mentioning, siting on the deck watching the people go by, time passes quickly. The lamb souvlakia was out of this world, beautifully spiced, tender and cooked to perfection. The platter as a starter just sets the tone, lovely, tasty and all about Greek cuisine. Desert was balklava and ice cream for the kids and me, the ice cream portion is to big and a lot was wasted.
I would recommend it to anyone and I will be back.

  • Best night ever! Our hotel booked us into one of the more 'famous' restaurants in town, but we walked in and walked straight out, could not have been more snooty! We drove past Mykonos and thought it looked like fun. Turned out to be one of our best dining experiences in the last 2 years! (And we're both in the industry) Best prawns, best ribs, and fabulous mezze platter. Just top class in an atmosphere where you can relax enjoy yourself, as good dining should be!

  • A nice and clean restaurant with good service and great food. A nice vibe. Seems the owner is quite proud to be married with all his wedding photos everywhere. Overall a nice night out.

  • We had a lovely experience on Saturday, 26 Jan'13. Food was delicious and freshly made, service was friendly and efficient and what a fantastic experience with the Greek dancing etc. Not at all boring and predictable but fresh and exciting.
