The Greek passion for life, beauty and of course food, ensures a joyous eating experience at Mythos. The menu is a superb exploration of authentic Greek cuisine. You can enjoy a variety of meze or traditional cooked meals such as kleftiko and moussaka, as well as meat, fish and seafood dishes. You can also enjoy some lovely light lunch options in pitas, and a delectable range of salads. Vegetarians are well catered for and, as a tantalising end to a fine meal, the desserts are breathtaking. Home-made baklava, halva, and Greek yoghurt served with nuts and honey, are but some of the delights on offer.
It was the worst possible experience in a very long time, and that at a time when we wanted to treat our guests! Food was badly cooked, our waiter very argumentative when nicely showed that our full order has not been served, thereafter ignoring us like the plague. And no, we were not rude. I will never ever in my life visit Mythos Brooklyn again, in fact, I will warn potential patrons.
Mythos just opened a branch in Irene Mall. Hoping to find a new staple restaurant we gave it a try. I was so disappointed, I wanted to cry. I had the beef souvlakia (fillet) which I'm almost sure it wasn't, because I've never had fillet as dry, under seasoned, overpriced and uninspiring in my life. The size of the main (I'm sure is the same as the starter) add a few awful French fries and one store bought minuscule pita cut in halves, and a little serving of tzatziki (that smells like old feet), add R30 or so and you have a main. I should have thrown the hard as a rock and burnt to a crisp saganaki at the sleepy waiters. This restaurant is very pricey and I'm sure more than half the menu is store bought. (like the sweet chili sauce, and the blue cheese dressing) Avoid it at all costs!
