Don’t buy fewer than six of the pastéis de nata at a time. You’ll regret it if you don’t. They’re that good. This coffee shop and patisserie has a small display fridge in the back filled with delectable Portuguese pastries. Apart from the perfect custard tarts you should try the jesuita (puff pastry, custard and meringue) or pata de veado (enriched bread rolled in coconut, filled with custard) for something different.
Smart shopper’s tip: If an apology is in order, a box of these pastéis de nata will say far more than chocolates or flowers.
