Pizza Piaggio is South Africa's original wood-fired pizza tuk-tuk, with a custom-built pizza oven in the back of an Italian Piaggio three-wheeler.
They make authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas, which cook in less than 2 minutes in their blazing hot oven, with imported Italian pizza flour, preservative-free Italian tomatoes, and local fresh fior di latte mozzarella from Puglia Cheese. Crowd favourites include the Pizza Margherita, and the Pizza Bianca with Portobello mushrooms (a white base pizza topped with extra virgin olive oil, red onion, fior di latte mozzarella, and roasted Portobello mushrooms with garlic and herbs). Delicious cured meats are also on the menu, all supplied by Richard Bosman.
Popular haunts: most Saturdays at the Neighbourgoods Market at the Old Biscuit Mill, and various other events and festivals. They also cater for private functions.
