Owner's description

Welcome to the beginning of your Thai culinary adventure. Proud to offer you a menu that encompasses cuisine from all 5 regions of Thailand, previously known as Siam.

Aside from being trendily healthy, Thai gastronomy has many discerning flavours and irresistibly rich aromas from the exotic herbs and spices used. The astringency of lemongrass, the anise-like pungency of Thai basil, the piquancy of chillies, the gentle smoothness of coconut milk and many others are the defining notes that make up Thai cuisine.

At Siam, they adhere faithfully to authentic Thai culinary traditions by acquiring only the freshest ingredients and choicest meats and seafoods to bring out the full range of flavours when prepared.

Their chefs were chosen from Thailand for their ability to whip up delicious home-style Thai cuisine, thrill you with familiar favourites such as Tom Yum Goong, Pad Thai, Green and Red Curry along with some innovative Siam Specials.

My husband and I went to Siam restaurant on a last Saturday, we had heard plenty about the restaurant from friends, so we decided to try it out. My first impression of the restaurant was that it was relaxed and comfrtable. The waiter then seated us and took our orders, we ordered: 'Thai chicken spring-roll' which was a bit oily and came with a little bit of dipping sauce. The spring-roll tasted like anything you could buy from a supermarket like Woolies. For our main meals : I ordered a 'Pad Thai' with chicken and my husband ordered the 'Egg-fried rice' with beef. Both of our dishes were oily and had a burnt aftertaste, the vegetables in the Pad Thai tasted charred. I asked my husband what he thought of his main and he was not impressed either. After finishing our mains ; we were offered desserts. Which we declined to, after hearing so much about this restaurant from our friends we were dissapointed. The food was most definitely not as good as our friends would have us think. We definitely will not be returning. There are other better options to spend a meal on that isn't as below par.
