Popped in at the new location on brand road for breakfast. Great menu to cater for all tases. Had thr ant lovers breakfast with chai latte . Good service and nice setup.
Accessed via a narrow lane off Davenport Road, Spoonful Eatery is a delightful place to enjoy a light meal or a lingering coffee and sweet treat. To celebrate Dad's birthday, I treated my family to breakfast there and I couldn't have chosen a better venue for this special meal. Blissfully peaceful, it is a quiet spot hidden behind Afro's. Surrounded by trees, it's bright and airy with vivid pops of colour and eclectic decor. The menu is small but interesting, including a range of decadent cupcakes like bar one, cinnamon and honey, and triple choc. Warmly welcomed by the owner Kathrin, we were served drinks immediately and waited about 20 minutes for meals. Our meals were all freshly prepared, well presented and affordable. Dad had the vegetarian breakfast of mushrooms, pepper and onion stirfry with beans, avo, baby tomatoes, a sweet relish and toast, which he enjoyed very much. My gran requested simply soft eggs and toast and this was done perfectly. My sister and I both settled on the sarmies. Local pastrami served on a village roll with lettuce, mozzarella, and balsamic honey onions, it was tasty with no stinting on the filling. My seasoned rustic cut fries were so incredibly good that I ordered a plate for my dad and gran and this was polished off by them. Sister had sweet potato fries with her meal and these were lovely too. Tuesday is Pensioners Day with pensioners receiving a free cup of coffee and 10% off on the bill. The owners are hands on and cheerful, keen to impress and accomodate any request. I couldn't leave without trying out a cupcake. Soft chocolate sponge topped with a light buttercream icing and brownie bits, marshmallows, peanuts and chocolate syrup, my Rocky Road cupcake was the ultimate indulgence. Delicious without being too sweet, it was moreish. Spoonful Eatery certainly impressed with it's relaxed ambience, fantastic food and friendly service. Recently under new management, it is definitely worth a visit.
Spoonful eatery is in a great spot in Glenwood, the outdoorsy feel mixed with a playful atmosphere makes one relax and feel young again. Limited menu, but amazing food. Service is great.
