It was a perfect Steak, Fillet, it was fabulous. The starter, Chief spez., was also perfect. The Service was very good. Big recommandation!!!!!
What a wonderful view from this hideout in the middle of Somerset West. The rather large restaurant is very quiet so apart from the view its rather disproportional one must factor in that its Winter. Food was a let down as it was just basic in all senses of the word and in comparison to the price
We went to Steffanie"s Place for a birthday celebration , it was for 10 people. The ambience of the restaurant was really good , and the food was acceptable but over priced. The service was terrible. The wrong dishes were brought to the table, then whipped away without an explanation. The waitress was asked to try and arrange separate bills but the request was ignored. Then the bill was presented. That is where the fun and games began.Everything on the bill that was on the specials board was simply billed as a special. To try and figure out who owed what was nearly impossible, and the waitress was clearly not interested in assisting either. It was not made clear that vegetables were not included in the main course ,so there more veggies delivered than ten people could eat.It was almost as though everything was made deliberately vague so a few more Rands could be extracted from the already overcharged patron. I would definitely not recommend a visit to this restaurant.

I'm fortunate enough to dine out frequently and know many of the top restauranteurs in the Country and abroad. Having been several times to Steffanie's Place I've always found the interior desperately lacking, but the quality of the food has always made up for this. With so much choice in the area and Waterkloof, Terroir, Rust en Vrede and Overture etc on the doorstep they need to up their game, particularly as they charge almost top tier prices. They have a marvelous position and tremendous view from their deck and we were hugely disappointed that we could not eat outside - particularly during the incredible late April summer we have been enjoying. Last night (as with many others this week) there was no wind and at 22 degrees the perfect evening to enjoy dinner outside. On arrival, a rather surely waitress said we could not dine outside - due to winter conditions...? However, all the doors were open and we could drink outside and make use of the deck as many others were doing. Made no sense and can only be put down to laziness. Starters were excellent, imaginative and well presented. Main courses disappointing and lacked imagination or flavour. Level of service and staff attentiveness poor - almost rude. Every restaurant can have an off night but what differentiates from the good (and there are so many) and bad are the small things. In that regard, Steffanie's Place need to up their game. A pity, as it has the opportunity to be so much better.

Worst meal out in several years. Service non-existent, plastic-wrapped menu was tacky, decor was horrible, ambience was noisy, plates were cleaned off on a table right beside our table all night long, drinks were not checked, lamb rack was cooked until massacred. Priced like fine dining, but with an experience more akin to your local Spur.
