Thirsty Scarecrow is a really nice place, but the cutlery and glasses are always dirty. The first time I thought it was just my bad luck and I'm going to ignore it. Sadly i don't go there anymore, at all! Everytime my beer glass and cutlery would be dirty. How can I enjoy my meal or drink if I feel that what I eat or drink with is not hygienic?! I haven't been there for quite a while, but would like to go again. I hope the right people read this and can better the problem.
The worst possible place to go in Cape Town. Terrible service - Questionable food. Warm drinks - Cold food. It all looks good on pictures, but you will be disappointed. Skip this place.
This is a very vibrant and energetic centric venue. At times too little attention is given to the patrons, hence me thinking the service isn't 5-star. However an all round good place for an after work drink situation.
The Farmer's Kitchen and it's twin restaurant/bar Thirsty Scarecrow are literally and figuratively the two most colourful restaurants in the Stellenbosch area. Not only do you have a scenic view while enjoying an excellent drink, but you are surrounded by beautiful strawberry fields and colourful scarecrows. The food is really fantastic and there are plenty variety to choose from. The drinks....oh boy. The coffee is really great and don't get me started on the milkshakes and the strawberry champagne! A wide variety of craft beers are available from Thirsty Scarecrow. Food and drink on the menu will suit almost everyone's liking. What further makes both restaurants so nice, is that it is really cool place to linger....either with your kids at the Farmer's Kitchen (they have a lovely play area for kids), with your special someone (enjoying the view) or a big group or friends/family (they have room). It's really perfect for a birthday party or other special celebration as well. I highly recommend that you make a stop, when visiting or passing through Stellenbosch!
So much salt is almost lethal.
