Owners description

Tjing Tjing Rooftop Bar, trading since 2011, was voted one of the best new bars worldwide by Conde Naste Traveler in 2012. Enveloped in wooden mansards, the old attic is an eclectic mix of new and old with a Japanese shrine-inspired red bar offset by a black and white Tokyo & Kyoto photo wall. The bar opens up to an airy outside rooftop terrace. Well known for its current indie and electronic music, expect a wide selection of bespoke cocktails, spirits, wine and otsumami.

User reviews

  • Had a couple of fantastic cocktails here before heading downstairs to Tjing Tjing Torii to eat - we asked the bartenders for drinks suggestions based on our mood and he was very intuitive, with thoughtful, subtly flavoured concoctions! The Asian twist to the menu is wonderful and you’re sure to find a flavour combination you’ve never tried before, and will want to try again. Can definitely recommend.

  • One of the hottest rooftop bars in Cape Town, with a cocktail menu to die for! The service is fantastic, the cocktails are simply amazing (especially the litchi martini), and should you decide to order a nibble or two your tastebuds will be in for a treat.
