Smart but simple restaurant with a world of Chinese and Thai dishes as well as a selection of sushi.

I found this restaurant through a budget sushi advert through Cape Town Magazine. The sushi was good, but didn't have the diversity that was advertised and was average. The rest of the menu looked wonderful so we'll have to try again for non-sushi items.
Great for informal dinner with friends. The attention to detail in terms of the venue is certainly wanting, but you become completely distracted by the food after the first bite. These guys have placed the focus on their product and it works. Everything is very clean and simple, you can even peer over and watch them prepare your sushi which is always a good sign.

Great sushi platters - well priced and good quality. We tried all the soups and really enjoyed the unique taste of each one.The veg tempura was a winner too.

For mains we ordered the crispy duck with pancakes - it was quite rich with a thick fried crispy outter crust - I could see how seem people would devour it. I would advise splitting it between two people though, the portion is very generous and a little bit of greens on the side would be perfect. Sizzling prawns is modest with mostly veg, but very well prepared [perhaps we just gobbled it down amongst us very quickly too]. The tables are excellent for sharing and with corkage at R25, I intend to become a regular.
I don't know how anyone could EVER complain about this restaurant. My husband and I have been eating sushi here for about 10 years now and have never had a bad meal... yes some of the waitors' communication skills in English are a bit lacking but I think that simply adds to the atmosphere. Don't walk in expecting 5 star decor and table settings just sit back and enjoy the 5 star food.

I am sorry that I have to share this restaurant with Eat Out readers - I would've preferred it to stay a "best kept secret". You try choosing between fresh sushi and the most perfect crispy duck or duck marinated in hoisin sauce. Or have it all like us and stumble home with a treasured takeway container.

What an absolutely shocking experience. After eating at great restaurants the whole weekend and feeling like chinese and sushi we ended up having the worst food and worst service ever experienced at any restaurant. The meal ended up costing R200 a head and was absolutely terrible. The waitress was so strange and so slow that it just made things worse. The restaurant was dead so there was really no excuse. The owner/manager just hid away in the back not coming near us!
