Absolutely love this Restaurant.  Not what i expected when we stopped there for a quick breakfast. We have been to Montagu a few times and every time we passed The Rambling Rose.  Ample save parking.  It  seems this was a home previously with the patio all around the front of the building. Tables placed on the patio looks inviting. Before you walk into the Restaurant  there is a quirky board about covid and that already made me smile. The register where you must sign in states it's Cyril's register.  There is such awesome items to buy ,a great deli and sweets that you can indulge in before getting to the restaurant part of the house.   The tables are far away from one another but i was so surprised at the size and the abeyance of the place . A fire place in the middle of the restaurant which would be perfect if the weather is a bit chillier.  As we got seated we received a complementary table water filtered  water with fresh mint leaves. We ordered the two & two breakfast which is two eggs and two slices of toast. The bread is freshly made and delicious. We asked for two plates of chips as we love chips with breakfast but the waiter informed us that their portions are big and one plate will be enough for two people. And she was right. Where would you get someone informing you to buy less. Usually they would want you to spend more.  We could not ask for a better waiter and the food were delicious. We spend R138 for the breakfast which included our drinks .  This is really a place to visit when you go through Montagu or if you visit. Next time we will go for dinner. Thank you so much The Rambling Rose for a great experience.
Such friendly people, really stunning food and a stunning ambience. Very highly recommended.
A true gem the Rambling Rose lives up to all expectations, and then some! With great service and even better food we'll be back for more!!
I have never had the need to review a restaurant while actually still sitting in it but this has got to be the worst service I have ever received. The food is lovely but be prepared to wait over an hour and half..and then the waiter forgot one of the orders. The restaurant was not full enough to offer any excuses. If you come in the morning and order your super you may just get it. Horrific wait they will loose customers which is a shame .

What a surprise! From the service to the ambience to the food, we were so impressed! The Rambling Rose is definitely recommended!
