Broadway Bakery & Confectionery in Maitland. They serve one of the best Pasteis De Nata in town. Baked Freshly every morning. Also available par baked and frozen for hotels and restaurants. While you there grab some traditional Portuguese Foods and Desserts and have a great Breakfast, Prego Roll or Caldo Verde Soup. I was about to mention Broadway Café but I see that someone has already done so. Another place to get a delicious pastel de nata is the Oranjezicht Market in the Waterfront on a Saturday morning.

This yummy bite often serves as a talking point at dinner parties and is loved by all fortunate enough to sink their teeth into it so congrats to the 5 eateries that serve our traditional Portuguese ‘custard tart’. However, to be fair to all involved, we have to mention Broadway Bakery in Maitland – a family business which has been making pastéis de nata since the beginning of time 🙂 If you haven’t tried one of theirs, you have not quite arrived! You owe it to yourself. While you there, grab a cappuccino to wash it down with. Oh…and take a prego to go!
