Hi Pauline!
I cannot agree with you more, Namjai House in Empangeni cannot be overlooked and is definately a gem hidden away in KZN. I certainly believe that this dynamic and and ever changing Thai Fusion and Revolving Sushi Bar is definately one not to be overlooked. Not only is their cuisine a speciality in its own but has for a while now introduced a lovely addition to their already vast menu, a delightful specials board. This offers top quality speciality meals unique to the area such as crumbed and oven baked whole brie with fresh fig, bacon bits, lavender and berry compote and balsamic caviar. This just to name one mouth watering and taste tantelizing starter offered in addition to their already popular Thai and Sushi menu offered in a casual, relaxed and friendly environment!

You guys always forget about the outer layers of Durban. You are missing an amazing gem in Empangeni called Nam Jai House. Every year we look out for this restaurant in your nominations, and every year you just don't add them.

With the greatest of respect, discussing Asian restaurants without mentioning Japa in Rivonia, is a little like eating Sushi without rice. Perhaps your reviewers should check in and see where the locals eat. Simply put the small Japanese communities in Pretoria and Johannesburg pretty much live at Japa. The food is superb and guess what, the Head chef is really Japanese, not Chinese, Korean or Thai. Please bond your house first before visiting, as I mentioned it is a real Japanese restaurant charging Japanese prices.

I am appalled that you would include Li Kou Foo in Linden on a best list. They are so bad I don't know how they stay in business! Tasteless poor-quality fare - not to be celebrated. I am a passionate Lindenite with a taste for good Asian food and I regularly drive to Bryanston to get takeaways from Dong Sheng in the Sloane Meat Market centre because they offer great value and AWESOME food.
