In reply to chelle. Milkwood in Onrustrivier is a disgrace. Service is bad, they very seldom have stock of all the items on the menu, and Christmas / New Year period is "ripoff" season. Such a beautiful setting on the lagoon, just a pity that the owners and staff don't seem to care about their customers and their reputation.

In my opinion, this list is wonderful and all, but there are some great restaurants missing from it.
The Shuntin’ Shed, @Fóod Ánd Wine Hermanus and Moltenos

Hi Eat Out –
Fabulous list and have dined at quite a few of them! Creation as a firm favourite.

Why not look at the Tides in Betty’s Bay – absolutely brilliant food –
and the Pool Room at Oak Valley was sublime.

If you do a ‘best restaurants’ list, then it has to be that! You have left out Rivendell Restaurant between Hermanus and Botrivier, and @Food & Wine in Hermanus! Thank you for fixing your Creation error!

Having spent a few weeks in Hermanus and had the opportunity to visit most of these, I feel there are glaring omissions and some on the list simply because they have been around a while. What about Spookfontein restaurant – and whilst Creation is amazing, it only has pairing platters, not a full a la carte menu- does this qualify for this category?

Lunch at Black Oyster Catcher was probably a highlight yet it doesn’t even get a mean too ? Come now…

Was very disappointed with Madre,s kitchen.
Kitchen run out of food on the day that I visited and heard from the table behind us that chips with one of the dishes couldn’t be replaced with mash. I asked for vegetarian which they didn,t have so opted for a double portion of the risotto starter but was told that they couldn’t accommodate me. Will not be going there again and will definitely not be recommending to any of my friends

My firm favourite is The Vine in Stanford. They make a fantastic steak and service has always been top notch
