Thanks for a great post! I'm mad about chilli poppers and I look for them wherever I go.
My favourite poppers in Cape Town are in the Northern Suburbs at Cantina Tequila. They're wrapped in a crunchy egg roll, stuffed with your choice of cheese or cream cheese, and perfectly deep fried. They're big and delicious, served with sweet chilli mayo. R44 for 3, R4 extra to add bacon. Maybe you could add them to your next list?
I've also found some great value-for-money poppers in a breadcrumb batter at the Park Inn's rooftop bar, Harald's, on Heerengracht Street. R65 for 6.
