This community-driven event will see a dozen food trucks, tuk-tuks and trailers showcase their unique offerings in the heart of the friendly city. From artisanal pizzas to gourmet burgers, vegetarian meals and Asian cuisine, all tastes will be catered for.

Organizers Jan Du Plessis (owner of design and building collaborative WERK) and Grant Foong (of Foong’s Asian Street Food) have come together to create an event that they believe is “very necessary for the Eastern Cape’s growing street food industry.”

According to Grant, the hope is that the event will gain momentum in the city and become a monthly event on the PE foodie calendar. “This event has no entry fee and all meals will be capped at R45, with a focus on a family- and child-friendly environment,” explains Grant.

The exciting food truck line-up includes Makoy, Street Cred Chef, Fushin, Foongs, Groundfloor Café, Gourmet Girl, Wafelbak, The Munch Box and Chia Health Food Co. There will be live music throughout the event as well as activities for the kiddies. Families are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and camping chairs to make the most of the day.
