About the Craft Beer prices! Every burger place/ restaurant/ pub/ bar has a markup. So if it was 40% cost of sales then why should the local craft beers be marked down to 50%. The brewer will tell you, you should make it cheaper then the establishment will sell more. So i think that sooner or later some brewers will disappear because they are not brewing quality or consistency.

Karl I appreciate how you take the production costs of the beer into consideration yet expect the restaurant to cut their margins in order to provide craft at an affordable price.

With all the overheads they have the only options are to preserve margins or not stock the product. For a product coming in at R20 to R30 a bottle you can expect a price tag of R60 to R80 at a restaurant.

So the question should be would I like to my local restaurant to stock craft beer so I can enjoy it there while I dine?
