Many rile against a day supposedly dedicated to love being spoiled by our consumerist ways. Steering clear of cliched reds and superficial shine doesn't mean you can't celebrate the ones you love, luckily! 🌈 Love, after all, deserves to be celebrated whenever we are fortunate enough to chance upon it! ♥️ . Head on over to our site (link in bio) where you can sponsor a bed of veggies in your lover's name; sign yourselves up for a bokashi-making workshop so you can nourish each other and the earth; or any of the other creativity-boosting workshops that are coming up. Or, if you're ready to take this relationship to the next level, become a Friend of the Farm. You'll be invited to exclusive lunches, talks and special access to the lush green haven that is the Farm. You'll get an overwhelming amount of love in return – promise 😘 . There are also a few last spots available for the Long Table lunch we're hosting with @laposkitchen on 24 February. If there is  a better way to celebrate loving and being loved than with hearty Italian food, we can't think of it 🍝 Head to our Stories for more, or send an email to karindupreez25@gmail.com

Caramelised Onion Ginger Carrot Soup We’ve said it before and we say it again, it takes an understanding of plant based cuisine to make tasty vegan food. Most soups use a stock and often bones are added to achieve flavour. To get deep flavour into a vegan soup, we sweat a bunch of alliums – garlic, shallots, onions or leeks – over a period of time. We always add salt at the beginning of this process as it releases liquid which helps concentrate flavours. Then we deglaze with an acid such as wine, vinegar or lemon juice. By this point you have the sweetness of caramelised vegetables plus saltiness and acidic flavours as a base for your soup. We topped our carrot and ginger soup with bitter crunchy red micro greens. #vegansoup #vegansoups #greenandvegan #greenandvegancapetown #vegan101 #vegancooking #vegancookingclass #vegancookingclasses #vegancookinglessons #howtovegan #makeveganfood #veganfoodshare #veganfoodshares #plantbasedsoup #beginnervegan #veganchef #veganchefs #plantbasedchef #plantbasedchefs #vegantips #veganhints #vegantricks #howtogovegan #howtoeatvegan #howtobevegan #vegansa #vegansouthafrica
