Unique amongst Cape Winelands estates, Hazendal celebrates both its Russian owners and rich South African heritage and one lucky Eat Out reader will get a chance to experience the Russian Tea Ceremony for two valued at R790.
This union of Russia and South Africa is particularly evident in the gastronomic experiences on the farm; a journey through the flavours and traditions of two unique, yet similar countries.
The best place to delve into culture through cuisine is in the Russian Tea Room, situated alongside the working wine cellar. Here the Russian Tea Ceremony celebrates the central role of tea in Russian culture, while also introducing guests to traditional Russian pastries and savoury delights.
Today Hazendal offers a variety of venues to enjoy- from the Pivnushka Beer Garden Houses in the lime-washed historic kraal space, to picnics on the lawns and freshly baked delights at Babushka Deli. This wine estate offers family friendly fun and fare with each venue catering for younger guests with a delicious kiddies menu option. The newly opened Classic Car Showroom will also be sure to thrill auto enthusiasts while Marvol Gallery showcases local and international art exhibitions.
The competition is open to readers in the Western Cape only and will end on Tuesday 11 December 2020. Transport to and from the venue is not included, and this includes travel costs for readers outside of the Western Cape, which are at the winners’ own expense. Terms and conditions apply.
