Pronto Italian Deli, Restaurant and Foodstore

Pronto has a big, primarily (but not exclusively) Italian menu. The portions are generous and the flavours sensational. They serve a breakfast, lunch and dinner, so the menu is appropriately large. Italian staples include a gnocchi starter (served with a cheesy sauce and sprinkled with pieces of crispy panchetta), assorted pizzas and lasagne.

The seafood stew, with prawns and mussels, tastes almost like the ocean itself. It usually comes with ciabatta, but our waiter, to his credit, recommended pasta, and the linguine suited the dish perfectly. The meatballs are generous, with a perfect sauce. You can buy it at the small deli section, along with freshly baked bread and cured meats.

The dessert menu demands its own space in the belly: tiramisu, dark chocolate mousse, crème brúlée, home-made gelati and a few other ways to beat the blues, with mascarpone featuring prominently as a weapon of choice.

Warm, cozy, confident and welcoming.

There’s a wine bar on the premises, so the wine list is healthy, international and competitively priced.
