This incarnation doesn’t do Reuben justice and in a town with options like Gaatjie and the amazing Oep ver Koep it’s not good enough. We ate there last year, but I can see that things have not improved. A supposedly slow-cooked pork belly (a Riffel signature) was tough and the piece of duck I was served may have actually been the carcass: I half expected to see a beak… Not pleasant. I am a fan of Abalone House but the food needs attention.
