Black Bull is a steakhouse in West Beach which also offers sushi. They cater for all ages. They have a wonderful play area for the young ones making the restaurant a great family environment. Booking is advised.

    Brought bottle of wine not listed on menu ... regular price R69 ... charged R220 ... owner condescending and rude. Waiting 20min to speak to owner. Will never go back. Pretends waiter that made mistake isn’t their responsibility.
    Family top spot! Nice casual food. Great service and facilities. Book ahead for a table to watch the big games.
    We visited Black Bull on Saturday 1 April 2017. Most of the food was average to good. The mash was poor, as was the sauerkraut, but the huge disappointment was the eisbein. We had ordered 2 on the table. 1 was barely edible, the other was not. I would question (but without a scale, not dispute) the size of the inedible one. The rind was very dark brown and not crackling – it was leathery and truly inedible. The meat was dried out and hard (literally). We told the waitress, and she did nothing but said she would tell the chef which that was the extent of the effort or interest. When she came back to the table, we asked if she had told the chef, she said, yes – he apologises. That was the end of it – no effort to replace, rectify, call a manager etc. We paid the full bill and left. I am not a fan of public review without giving the other party a chance to respond - everyone can have a bad day, and it IS forgivable. It is through feedback that issues be fixed and why I feel it important to give it. However, I have now been waiting for a response which was promised for 5 days ago when the waitress came in, and I have heard nothing, so I wonder how seriously our feedback was received.
