Broughton Country Estate consist of world class accommodation, a one of a kind conference and events venue, wedding venue and a fine dining restaurant serving the local community of Port Elizabeth and surrounding areas, targeting the growing international tourism trade who visit the Eastern Cape and the Garden Route.
The property consists of 19 Hectare of beautiful rolling hills which is made up of beautiful coastal riverine bush and coastal grasslands which are unique to the coastal Eastern Cape region of South Africa. The property is situated on one of the highest points in the area and the mountain and sea views are spectacular.
The surfing mecca of Jefferies Bay and large sections of the coast line and sea are visible from the property. The Island Nature Reserve forms the southern boundary and there is access to over 30km’s of horse riding and walking trails in the Island Reserve, a natural coastal forest reserve.
Wedding Venue
Weddings catering for up to 100 guests can be held in a number of areas around the property. The beautiful Chapel offers a more traditional feel, the court yard with water features, umbrellas (during the day and fiery lights at night) and Gazebo for that Italian feel, the pool area for those wanting an outdoor pool setting and in Natures Cathedral under the trees in a natural indigenous forest. There are many more beautiful areas that can be used depending on your taste and style of wedding setting required.
Restaurant
Fine dining is offered in a number of intimate locations around the property depending on the size of the group, the weather and the occasion. When the weather is good dining is offered on the veranda which offers spectacular views over the infinity pool, local farmlands and the Lady Slipper Mountain, on the deck with views over the estate, the Island Reserve and with lovely sea views, around the pool under the Gazebo or in the quaint courtyard with a gazebo and water features. In cooler weather meals are served inside in an intimate candle lit setting. Each area will ensure memorable occasions are made. All fresh produce is grown on the property or sourced from the local community.
