Owner's description

Chalk - Craft Eatery is a newly opened craft eatery & bar in the heart of Parkhurst, situated on the famous Fourth Avenue in Parkhurst Square.

Chalk, was the brainchild of Keyur Lalaram and Solange Dos Santos, two vibrant, young restauranteurs with a passion for healthy, fresh and locally sourced food.

Being the foodies they are, Keyur and Solange's vision is to create an organic space where there is a variety of meal selections in which their guests are not restricted to a specific food/cooking style. They have and always will be community driven and enjoy hosting and supporting multiple charitable events and organisations.

They have always shared a love for Parkhurst and its community, now their dream of opening a restaurant in Parkhurst, has finally come to fruition. They are excited to be the ‘newbies’ on the block and look forward to spoiling their guests with exceptional service and hand-crafted meals. Keyur and Solange are both very environmentally conscious and incorporate recyclable and reusable materials in all areas of their restaurant, in addition they are constantly expanding their vegan items on the menu to cater for a wide variety of lifestyles.

Chalk is inspired by South Africa’s ‘Rainbow Nation’ where there is strength in diversity; it draws its inspiration from their country’s unique cultural melting pot, which transitions into their ‘East meets West’ fusion menu.

Chalk is a place where diverse and unique people from all walks of life, come together to converse, enjoy craft beers, cocktails and wines, all the while tucking into their delicious meals served throughout the day.

Chalk - Craft Eatery is a vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurant as well as being a pet friendly restaurant that also serves weekend breakfasts.

Guests can except to find that their menu ranges from Italian pastas to Mexican tacos to Asian-fusion tapas cuisine. Your taste buds will never get bored as the menu changes seasonally and only the finest, freshest ingredients are used to lovingly create their dishes.
