Owner's description

At the Fyndraai Restaurant we share the warmth of the Cape in abundance: hospitality, generosity and really, really good food. Food that’s unpretentious, proudly local and just as adventurous as our wines.

Solms Delta Wine Estate is a gem waiting to be discovered in the Cape Winelands. The estate has so much to offer that often one needs to visit numerous times to absorb it all. Fyndraai Restaurant which is headed up by Shaun Schoeman is a small restaurant inside with some outside seating as well. The food offered is generally uniquely South African with fresh produce and herbs used from their garden.

Solms Delta Wines are excellent - their smooth reds and crisp but memorable whites leave you wanting more. The estate offers numerous tours of the property and one of the tours is Food and Wine Pairing which we have tried and it is superb.

The estate offers wine tasting and a social history musuem adjacent to the restaurant which is super to do first when you reach there.
We particularly love the Solms Delta picnics they offer down at the riverside forest. The basket for 2 people is well priced with delicious picnic fare (the best we have had yet) and has come with water and a bottle of their Lekkerwijn. The setting is unique, relaxing and very family friendly so I couldnt recommend this establishment enough.
The farm is always a hive of activity with Summer Harvest / Oes Concerts and other events.

There are many fine wine farms to choose a picnic at in Cape Town, but this has to be the best that I have tried. The riverside forest setting is just fabulous and, along with the tantalising picnic bits and bold, fun wines, makes a wonderful day out. The picnic basket is really value for money and offers the best. There is so much to see and do on this estate between the picnics, wine tasting, tours, museum and restaurant.
Dear MarietjieWe were very concerned to read of your disappointing visit to Fyndraai during the Bastille Festival and apologise most sincerely. Whilst our chef and many of our staff were based at Franschhoek for the day, this is no excuse for any drop in our normal standards. We have addressed the problem and taken steps to ensure that this will not happen again. It is important to us that all our guests and visitors have a pleasant and satisfying experience and we thank you for taking the trouble to alert us. We would like to invite you to come back to Fyndraai for a meal, to allow us to make up for your disappointment and we will be in touch with you on email.SincerelyAnnalize
Beautiful venue, poor service, portions too small - went away hungry.
