The most horrible restuarant experience EVER!! Wanted to spoil my love and he described the experience as "doing the walk of shame" after a night drinking. My snail starter was EXTREMELY salty, my partner's kidney starter's pastry was burnt. Main meal, prawns overcooked, garnish limp. The 400gm steak tasted like cooking oil - TRULY DISGUSTING. Besides that their "booking my email" was never confirmed after numerous attempts. I eventually confirmed the booking by making a call. When we arrived we were told we didn't have a booking but after checking found that we were already marked off as having arrived. The host is extremely rude and you get the feeling that she HATES her job. We waited long our drinks, which I am happy to pay for, as that didn't disappoint. Overpriced, no ambience, chef absent, soul absent, R700 I would have rather spent at a garage ordering pies. Never again!!!! Their signage should say: "ENTER AT OWN RISK"
I agree with Tania Joubert Ponter. The restaurant trades on the name with an absent chef. I was so disappointed. We read up about this restaurant that will give you a "fine dining" experience. We ordered the Salmon starter and received a vinegar drenched coleslaw with salmon at the bottom and a dried out baked filo something. Main course was steak drenched and covered completely with mushroom sauce (as per K Britz) the fine dining veg was a floret of dry broccoli and some carrots. My husband ordered the Dorado which was ones again drenched and completely covered in mushroom sauce. The fish was overcooked and burned with a hard bottom. Desert and we had a bottle of wine - all this for R800. It is the worst restaurant experience I had. I will never ever recommend this restaurant to anybody and I will make sure to tell anybody that asks.
the throw the food and especially their steaks closed with sauces - take that away and you find dried inedible meat - I think 3rd grade. Request your steak without the sauce ontop and find out for yourself
The food is exceptional. Truly exceptional, original, and a sensory experience that I've not had anywhere else in the world. Great! You always leave this restaurant happy.

Waiters are good and know their menu etc., but manager and waiters keep interrupting your meal to ask how you are - that's irritating!

    Decor needs an update.

Still the best place to eat out in Pretoria.
