Owner's description

Situated in Roam, the growing art, food and culture hub of Rosebank, Marble will boast a grand wood-fired grill imported from Washington as the focal point of the restaurant. A rooftop bar will provide a space for socialising and celebrating local wines, with a view stretching over Johannesburg towards the Magaliesberg.

Another exciting, on-trend element is the walk-in butchery – inspired by Australia’s Victor Churchill – that will form part of the downstairs area. This will give guests the opportunity to take home the same cuts of meat they enjoyed at the restaurant above.

We had the most appealing experience there on the 1st of May. My friend ordered a martini and it came in a white wine glass. My other friend ordered red wine and was also brought a white wine glass. When she asked why she wasn't being served in one of the nicer, more appropriate glasses she was told its reserved for premium wines I ordered some food and the waiters forgot about it during their handover. It took 45 minutes for us to get served bar snacks. The classism and lack of professionalism was shocking to say the least Wouldn't recommend it!
Sotuated on the top floor at Keys Art Mile lies this beautiful eatery. With a great view over Johannesburg north. Something that makes Marble a great dining eatery is the set up as well as the food. Being able to see your food being prepared right in front of you and getting the best flame grilled food. Service from our waiter Mthandazo was superb. He brought our meals timely and always checked on us. Dining with a 7 year old meant that he had a demanding client and not once was he irritable. We tried the Marble bites since it was our first time there followed by the lamb cutlets and chocolate tarts to share with the little one. Having fussy eater meant we were worried about what would be on offer for her. She was served with beef burger sliders and had a starter of Avo Ritz prior to that. With various cuts of meats on offer as well as meats with different aging we also went for the 800g T bone steak, andhad plenty of options to choose from. And the sobert served with the meal was super amazing and the right texture and not too overwhelming but had the right tones and a bit of zing. The great thing about Marble is in the the set up and the experience. Nothing beats going to a luxurious restaurant of this nature and enjoying the foods on offer. The whole place tells a different story. With art brackng the walls and beautiful pieces all around the place as well as the starter wooden knife. One thing that stood out for me was something that we did not order. A starter of two kinds of breads with butter and a pumpkin puree. That set the tone for me about the experience that was to go down. Thanks to the team at Marble for this great experience.
The Marble Journey I awaited in anticipation for yesterday as I finally arrived at the quintessential Marble Restaurant. The restaurant is situated in Keyes Art Mile, the food hub of Rosebank. The views are spectacular throughout the magnificent restaurant. Marble Restaurant is the love of cooking on fire and the cuisine is one of a kind. The restaurant boasts elements of fine art throughout the lunch and dining experience. The glasses and cutlery are sparkling, I really enjoyed the natural light that lights up the restaurant. There is a dining area and bar area. Each area has bespoke menus'- it's the best of both worlds. The meal I opted for was a earthy meal. It was Gnocchi. The gnocchi was soft with a delicious Ricotta filling served on a bed of smoked tomato butter, topped with tomato from the coals and grilled pepper. I am an Aspiring Chef and I love Experimenting with flavor. The Mile 8 book about cooking is interesting and it has a great story. One of my favorite recipe in the book is the Marble Fries. I ordered this and these Marble fries were out of this world. It was actually perfectly spiced and fried to perfection #Amazing There is also a limited Edition Smoke Inspired Cocktail Menu - this is something you have to experience. My awesome afternoon ended with Marble Style ice cream. My overall experience was fantastic and thank you to the wonderful team (Chef Tyler, Mandisa and Victor)
