Consistency is one of the most difficult demands of running a restaurant. So when you find it being practiced so beautifully and so deliciously, you can’t help but fall in love with the place.
That’s the case with Meraki. The pretty-as-a-picture eatery on an oak-lined street in Stellenbosch has won the hearts of locals and out-of-towners alike. The menu is a thoughtful collection of delicious fare, beautifully presented. Breakfasts are popular and include delectable banana bread French toast, served with homemade blueberry jam, strawberries and cinnamon whipped cream. Or build your own plate from the long list of available ingredients.
Lunch brings a crunchy and colourful harvest table as well as an appealing a la carte menu. The latter includes a daily power bowl, interesting sandwiches, wraps and salads. Their take on the Caesar salad is phenomenal – lemony chicken strips and pasta served with a yoghurt and pecorino dressing, cos lettuce and crispy kale.
It is however their sweet offering that have led to their cult status. Leave space (and time) to peruse the abundance of pastries, tarts and mini-cakes on display in the glass case. The offering varies, but is consistently attractive and delicious. Don’t miss their coconut slices or chocolate-and-almond cruffin (or as they like to call it, the muffin that went to French school).
Arguably some of the best coffee in town. But we might be swayed by the sweet accompaniments. Alternatively go for tea, a delectable raw juice or something from the small selection of wines, craft beers and ciders.
Consistently friendly and efficient. They don’t mind people lingering for hours to enjoy the beautiful setting and the good coffee.
Has the word “beautiful” been used enough times? It really is. White, light and bright, with marble tops, exposed light bulbs and other chic touches. Sit on the sidewalk to watch students and tourists.

My favorite brunch spot in Stellenbosch! Lovely food and friendly staff!
I would recommend it.
Meraki is my go-to restaurant in Stellenbosch, and I think I’m nearing on 100 visits. Perfect for breakfast or lunch, this restaurant absolutely rocks my tastebuds. I’ve been disappointed by the service lately, but the food is always perfectly seasoned & beautifully plated, and the coffee is always frothy and hot. A must-visit!

A little gem in the Eikestad, where I can just escape from everything for a while- enjoy a lovely cup of tea and be guaranteed an amazing meal.
My husband and I had come to Meraki for breakfast. First greeted with a big, warm, welcoming smile, coffee was extraordinary, and the food was amazing. And talk about fast and attentive service. Thank you Meraki, that was awesome.
This little cafe in Ryneveld street Stellenbosch is sure a big fish in a small city. Outstanding food, great coffee, great service and beautiful staff with a cosy, comfy ambiance, is a recipe for return.
Meraki has always been one of my favourites - that space where you hide away from every day life, spending quality time with friends and REALLLYYY good food...
Meraki really reflects “liefde en passie”.
Everything they do and serve is done with love and no request is ever too much to ask.
I thoroughly enjoy having my morning coffee there as well as my indulgent treats.
Thank you to the Meraki team for your constant perfection.

This little gem, Meraki, has so many great things to offer. First things first - the COFFEE. The coffee at Meraki is something else. Once you've tasted this coffee you will never want to drink any other coffee, anywhere else. The staff is always friendly and know each and every regular customer by their name. It's like being at home. They make the best Eggs Benedict and Banana Bread French Toast.
Whenever you enter the doors to this beautiful cafe, you are greeted with warm smiles and friendly faces. The food is amazingly presented and very tasty. The baristas has a magic touch when it comes to coffee. They also have a great selection of cakes and pastries on offer.
First word that comes to mind when thinking of Meraki is Home. With waitresses that treats you like family, managers that knows and acknowledges you by name, they sure make you feel important and very special. That's is not where it stops, the service is excellent and the food is out of this world and with the COFFEE....... don't get me started, that barista is talented. I've been coming for years but letting people know how amazing Meraki is never gets old. I love this Cafe.
Most beautiful yet comfy restaurant in town. Usually I'm very picky about where I sit, because I want my view to be good. When I'm at Meraki, I don't have that problem at all. It's impossible to find an "ugly angle".
No need to doubt that the food and service won't be top quality. Maraki is always at the top of my suggestion list when I'm asked where I want to go for a coffee date.
This is definitely my go to coffee place.
I am convinced they have the best cheesecake in town. It creamy, yet fluffy. It's rich but not too sweet.
Beautiful interior design.
The food is an artwork and tastes divine.
Amazing coffee, especially their ice coffee.
Lastly, Meraki's waiters are kind and loving.
Great coffee , best staff.
Happy to call this my second home. ❤Loveliest staff & best coffee in town!!
