Owner's description

This new addition to The Village hub offers locals a taste of Greek fare with a menu inspired by Greek family recipes.  Enjoy dishes that are meze-style, or go for mains like souvlakia with tzatziki and pita; lamb kleftiko with oven-roasted potatoes; veggie mousaka with a Greek side salad; or fresh whole line fish.

As i set foot into this gorgeous establishment i was instantly transported from humid, sweaty Durban to cool, magical Greece. The decor was exceptional and everything was squeaky-clean raising my hopes of the state of their kitchen. I felt relaxed and ready to unwind and enjoy my much-anticipated evening out with my lovely other half. Our waiter, while not inefficient, lacked personality and a smile which would have perfected the evening for me. I decided on the house wine which was crisp and easy to drink (not bad at R36 a glass!). As for the food-wow. We decided on the meze platter for two as we wanted to sample as many Greek dishes as possible. The meat (beef skewer, chicken skewer, meatballs and schwarma) was juicy, tender and packed full of flavor. The seafood (prawns and calamari) was flavored beautifully however i found it a little on the dry side. Last but not least, the pitas to mop up the tasty juices that were left over and dip into the refreshing tzatziki. The platter was just enough for two and left no space in our very happy tummys. I will have to return for the pistachio ice cream that was seductively calling my name. All in all a pleasant evening.
This umhlanga mythos is a very racist place, i walked in with my wife ,2 sons and my 2 inlaws and was told by a pretty white girl that we fully booked. Her facial expression showed that she was shocked to see so many blacks, i was then followed by a black waiter who later informed me that they were not fully booked and that i could sit for 3 hours with my family. we were directed to Chris their white manager that showed no interests in our complain. It made me and my family sick to see such level of racism in these people's behavior. This restaurant is such a dissapointment and a place where blacks are dispized. such a shame
Disappointed portions small , waiter dessrted us had to call supervisors a lot of them but bigest disappointment ordered fish and chips but portion very small , not worth the money
