Owner's description

The Quarter Kitchen occupies a section of the Original Breakwater Prison in 1860 and known as the Good Conduct Ward. The Breakwater Prison, now owned by the University of Cape Town Business School, was built exclusively for “European” convicts as a rehabilitation centre. “Non-European” prisoners remained in the old convict station for a period of time as cheap labour for the quarry and the harbour. They were also rented out to locals as house servants and gardeners.

This is the best place to enjoy quality food and wine in Cape Town hands down
Met some friends of ours for a drink at the hotel, we decided to eventually stay and have dinner. What an experience. We had the Pienang Curry, mouthful of flavours, service was magnificent. Will be back
My husband and i spent Valentines day here. We have been married for 25 years and this was one on the most unforgetable experience. Great Chef, Craig Paulse
