As the name suggests, SeaBreeze is known for its fresh local and sustainable seafood. Since being opened in Bree Street by husband-and-wife team Alex and Ruth Grahame in 2015, the establishment has become a favourite spot among locals.
Diners can expect a small but well thought-through menu featuring exciting seafood options like angelfish tacos, a tuna burger with house cut chips, and a moreish Cape Malay seafood curry accompanied by home-made roti and sambal – a true homage to the area. Oysters are half-price during the daily Oyster Happy Hour from 12pm to 1pm and 5pm to 6pm.
For non-seafood eaters, the choices are limited. There’s the option of asparagus and poached egg or aubergine tacos for starters and hearty ribeye steak for mains.
The dessert list features a mix of decadent items, from apple crumble cheesecake to chocolate ganache and salted caramel tart, ending off with a collection of signature don pedros – think Peppermint Crisp and banana-nut flavours.
Drinks
SeaBreeze has arguably the country’s biggest rum menu, with a large variety of rum cocktails on offer, making it a go-to spot for lovers of the trending spirit. The wine list is varied but small, featuring top-notch local wines at reasonable prices. All wines are available by the glass, carafe or bottle.
Service
The chef regularly makes an appearance to serve guests their meals, which adds a nice personal touch. Service by the rest of the team is friendly but not attentive.
Ambience
The decor is airy and chic with a palette of blues and whites. Expect a welcoming and bustling atmosphere that’s cosy and intimate. Outdoor seating close to the street makes for people-watching paradise. In the summer months, sit out in the sunshine and take advantage of the Oyster Happy Hour while sipping on a chilled glass of bubbly.
Best for…
A catch-up with close friends or impromptu casual dinner with the family.

Great service, relaxed, lovely ambiance and the food is consistently good. It’s my go to in the neighborhood and I’m never disappointed. The oysters are are the main attraction but the homemade pasta and seafood curry is hard to beat.

Our experience at Seabreeze was absolutely superb from the moment we walked through the doors and were welcomed so warmly by the host. The team was friendly and offered great service and our waiter was fantastic. The wine selection was wonderful and we were able to order a wine we had never had or heard of and it was so great. The food was out of this world, we enjoyed the unusual dishes on offer and being able to try different types of fish which is a nice change from the usual you would find anywhere else. The ambience and vibe was great. I would highly recommend.

We had a the most amazing fish for dinner. And what more, the oyster and campaign bar is perfect for birthdays or special occasions.

A real delight for seafood lovers! Great lunch spot, but surprisingly, also really buzzing and vibey for the evening. So many delicious options, hard to choose - but I also need to go back to try the classic fish and chips. Top spot!

I have always been a bit bleh about so-called seafood restaurants - the hype of the tourist attractions in the Waterfront does not help my assessment. I mean, what can a specialty seafood restaurant really offer that any Ocean Basket does not already do at least half decently? (That was rhetorical, no comment needed.)
Ta-da! Well, hello Seabreeze in Bree Street. You have definitely given me a new perspective… They still have the fish and chips, but damn, it looked good. Crisp, golden and puffed batter encasing fresh hake. I had a fish soup starter which was light but packed with flavour, and a fresh tuna niçoise starter portion. Equally tasty. Wish I could have tried a few other dishes, especially the fish pie which looked great, kept light with a phyllo pastry our waiter explained. Good service, which I always appreciate. Definitely will be back.
