At The Conservatory, guests may expect an eclectic, light and abundant menu, featuring uncomplicated yet perfectly executed food served in the most idyllic garden setting.
We got to experience this beautiful restaurant to celebrate my sister's graduation and as it was midweek in the evening, literally had the place to ourselves to take pics in the different seating areas showcasing its stunning decor. The food was delicious and I was not disappointed with my grass-fed beef fillet and Liz McGrath's chocolate plate to end off the evening. We enjoyed it so much that my baby shower committee and I returned for lunch on the veranda and was not disappointed and got to witness the majestic surroundings during the day.
Fantastic service and even better food. We came here for a birthday celebration and had a lovely experience. The food is simply divine - I can highly recommend the duck although every dish ordered by the party was exceptional. Our waitress was very friendly, she overheard us doing a birthday toast and organised a little chocolate plate for my boyfriend. Highly recommend it especially for a special occasion. We will definitely be going back.
We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at The Conservatory last night. The service was fantastic and staff were attentive. The food was sublime - the cheese souffle with cheesy gin sauce was out of this world! And the coconut frangipane dessert was delectable. It’s not a cheap outing but it gives exceptional value for money - your tummy and tastebuds will be more than satisfied. An extra-special touch was the plate of mini sweets (nougat and a macaron and a milk tart) given to me as a Happy Birthday. Super special experience!
The food may be delicious, but make sure to check before booking your table that there is no wedding happening. The wedding venue is literally in the room next to the restaurant, with no real separation or sound proofing. Expect to have no dinner conversation (because you can't hear yourself think) if the disco has started. Totally not worth the money in this situation, and the manager gave us "coffees on the house as a concession, with apologies". Same old shitty Cape Town service (we can be slapgat and snooty because we have The Mountain...)
My son was visiting from London with his partner, who made reservations at Greenhouse. When the three of us arrived, we were told that Greenhouse was closed on a Monday and that our booking was now at Conservatory. We were very disappointed at first, but enjoyed the excellent food, wonderful ambience and great service. We hope to be back and try the Greenhouse to compare. Thanks to all!
