The name, Roots Café, is inspired by the roots of the magnificent fig tree on the property of The Saint James on Venice Guesthouse. The restaurant is open to the public and serves breakfasts, lunches and light meals daily from 7:00 to 17:00. The hotel's menu is a creative assembly of the finest and freshest ingredients and each dish is enhanced by using herbs from the beautiful herb garden, through which guests may stroll. The weather is often conducive to sitting outside and guests take advantage of the beautiful garden setting.

Being a small, private, peaceful venue it is ideally suited to host intimate functions for special occasions. A private dining-room can be made available for group functions, private birthday dinners and high level corporate dinners.
