Trabella has definitely upped the pizza game in Johannesburg. The variety of tasty, quality toppings paired with their beautiful, crisp base make for the truly divine pizzas. My go-to is a simple Margarita topped with basil pesto. Simple, but delicious! The actual pizzeria is a little oddly laid out and on busy nights (which is most nights), is very loud with the chatter of happy patrons. The service has always been great, and the staff is happy to make suggestions or accommodate within reason. For the best thin-based pizza in town, Trabella is the place to go!

Terrible food!

I went over last night with a friend who was visiting from Switzerland. The restaurant was reasonable quiet and we were the only ones sitting in the particular section we were seated in.

Both of us ordered salads - mine was a Haloumi salad which the menu stated had avo, nuts and honey and green salad. My friend went for the spicey chicken and avo salad.

Our salads were bland - 90 % of it was terrible and tasteless ice berg lettuce with haloumi dumped on top. The nuts were very few and I tasted no honey. My friends salad was the same, except that his had chicken dumped on top.

Considering the prices for the salads R160 and R155 each, this was simply shocking. The service was also slow.

Will definitely not be going back again.

My favorite restaurant in JHB! Best pizza, best pasta, great vibe, love it. Highly recommended.
