Ben's on the Beach 

Food:

Slabs of grilled beef in rich, creamy sauces are the mainstay, and deservedly so. Note the menu’s handy grill guide. Try the old man sauce made with brandy, or the delicious preparation of yellowtail, when it’s available. The neatly plated portions are substantial.

Wine:

The serious list runs for several pages, offering a diverse selection of SA wines with descriptions alongside the main varietals.

Service:

Nothing’s too much trouble and the staff ensure a comfortable experience.

Ambience:

Window seats at this beachfront venue are generally popular. The interior is up-market and modern, comprising festive but muted lighting and gleaming wall-mounted sculptures in an oceanic theme.

Bens on the Beach was the choice of venue for our September dinner club. Our group includes some discerning foodies, some of whom had previously dined at Bens, for others - their first time. A variety of dishes were ordered for main course - fish, steak (with that delicious Old Man sauce) and many others were thoroughly enjoyed and even though the portions ample, the general consensus was that dessert was not to be missed. And, again, we were not disappointed. Service was attentive yet unobtrusive. A generous wine list at very reasonable prices is available and we were also very impressed by the superb value of the specials listed in the menu. A delightful evening all-in-all and I heartily recommend Bens for both a romantic soirée or a larger group enjoying an evening out together. Ten out of ten!

Scintillating dinner meal



Dear Ben’s



I would just like to personally thank you for a great dinner meal last night.



Last night I brought two of my friends to introduce them to the culinary art of Ben’s. Needless to say, we were not disappointed…All of us had the dinner deal for R155; calamari, sirloin steak and the mousse and crème brûlée It must have easily been the best dinner meal I have had in many years at a restaurant. It is really great to know that some restaurateurs still maintain such high standards. Something which ensures that every course is as memorable as the last…
