Food:

This compact and reasonably priced bistro features a small menu of only three starters, mains and desserts, which changes monthly. There’s always meat, fish and vegetarian options, and dishes are often French inspired. For starters you might have duck and pistachio terrine wrapped in Serrano ham; bouillabaisse with saffron aioli and a Crottin-style cheese (with cow’s milk); or beetroot and wild rocket salad. Mains are excellent. Try the venison pie with roast root vegetables, pan-fried dorado with fennel puree, or the spinach pappardelle with broccoli and cauliflower. There’s a separate lighter lunch menu.

Licensed.

Service:

Friendly and efficient.

Ambience:

This used to be a car workshop, so the funky walls are raw brick. The kitchen dominates the end of the restaurant so you can see the chefs at work.
